We are currently searching for dynamic Membership Coordinators for our club in Ottawa. If you are passionate about helping people and have a desire to promote healthy lifestyles within your community, then this may be the position for you!  Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Membership Coordinator is responsible for delivering and continuously improving membership sales results and performance.

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on. We can’t wait to hear what else you want to contribute to the role!

  • Identifies new and creative strategies and tactics to attract community members into Movati Athletic Club locations.
  • Supports the execution of internal and external promotions and marketing campaigns/strategies to attract new Club member and retain existing Club members.
  • Nurtures new business accounts to meet and exceed sales goals and targets through tenacious and enthusiastic outreach, in accordance with defined metrics and standards. Strives to achieve and exceed new membership sales objectives and continuously improve membership sales performance.
  • Provides exceptional sales and client service to meet the diverse needs of new and existing members. Builds and sustains relationships with new and existing Club members.
  • Conducts informative and energetic membership tours to prospective members and guests, anticipates and interprets their needs and customizes the membership experience by matching their unique needs, interests and goals with Club products and services.
  • Generates sales leads through prospecting (lead boxes, corporate outreach). Establishes relationships with local businesses to promote, health, wellness and fitness.
  • Ensures that new Club members are scheduled for initial consultations in a timely manner.
  • Follows up on all unsold prospects in a timely manner, and in accordance with defined metrics and standards.
  • Maintains regular contact with Club members to retain them, motivate them, and assist them in meeting their health and fitness goals.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of and promotes Movati Athletic’s programs, products and services to Club Members.
  • Stays current on new sales strategies, techniques and competitor industry standards, to enhance performance.
  • Completes all administrative paperwork and tasks accurately, diligently and promptly.
  • Participates and contributes to Sales team meetings to enhance performance. Adheres to all policies and procedures and fosters a culture that encourages proactivity and accountability.
  • Develops and maintains credible, effective working relationships with employees, and the community. Works closely with Fitness Consultants, Personal Trainers and Personal Training Manager to ensure the smooth, efficient and profitable operation of the Personal Training department.
  • Ensures that all work areas are clean, organized.

What type of experience should you have?

These are only some of the things we’d like you to bring to the table. There will be more, but we can discuss those in person.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required. Post-Secondary education related to health and fitness industry (Kinesiology or Physical Education) is an asset. Additional certifications or workshops related to health, fitness, sales, marketing and customer service are strongly preferred.
  • 1 + years related sales and customer service are required.
  • Related industry experience is an asset (i.e. retail, hospitality, leisure, fitness, etc.).
  • CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment.
  • Ability to create and sustain a culture of service focused on hospitality, caring, welcoming and fun.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to act with tact, diplomacy and professionalism coupled with strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and flexible hours, as required.
  • Demonstrates a “roll up the sleeves” mentality.
