Cardio training is the foundation of most fitness programs as it's the quickest, most effective way to burn calories and build endurance. The good news is, there are hundreds of machines available at every club so you can just jump right on and get running, stepping or cycling.
Your comfort is not only important to your overall well-being, it's essential for a good workout. That's why we've built separate women-only studios, a women-only fitness floor and even some women-only pools as well as scheduled women-only group classes and swim times.
Weight and resistance training can help you tone, sculpt and strengthen as part of an overall fitness plan. Whatever your ability, strength training is a great way to complement cardio, flexibility and yoga training to help build muscle and lose fat.
If you want to see results fast, then one of our training solutions with our certified trainers could be very effective for you. Choose from fully private one-on-one sessions, semi-private (with a friend or training partner) or even small group training sessions that can help you stay motivated while also helping you stay within your budget.
Refresh your spirit with yoga classes, ranging from beginner to Anti-Gravity, as well as Hot Yoga sessions in our dedicated studio. Not only is yoga a fantastic way to relax, increase flexibility and even detox your body, it's complimentary for every Movati Athletic member.
After your workout, come and join us at the Movati Café for a full range of delicious (and nutritious) snacks, smoothies and coffees. You've got to replace some of those calories you just burned off, so make them count while you relax in the comfortable lounge.
Wellness & therapy
Our philosophy at Movati Athletic is to focus not only on your physical health, but on your overall well-being too. That's why we offer services like preventative health screening, massage therapy, saunas, steam rooms and special weight-loss consultation. We are also excited to announce that the Active Life Health Services clinic is now open at our Orleans location, offering chiropractic care, digital posture analysis, custom orthotics, laser therapy, nutrition counselling and much more.
This is no leisurely bike ride through the park. If you want to burn calories fast, boost your cardio and tone up quickly, one of our indoor cycling classes may be the perfect solution. Fast, intense and definitely fun.
We have professional childcare available for all of our members with younger children. We also offer a comprehensive – not to mention fun – Kids’ Club program for older kids. That includes fitness classes, swimming lessons and summer/holiday camps. Programs and availability vary by club location.
Swimming and aquatic exercises are one of the most effective low-impact fitness options. At Movati Athletic, we have classes for every ability, from AquaFit and Family Swim times to lessons and lane swimming for adults.
Squash is not only an excellent cardio workout, it’s a fun way to get competitive with your friends. You can organize your own games or join one of our house leagues to find players at your level. Just remember, strategy is more important than athletic ability with squash, so this is a great activity even for beginners. We currently have squash courts at three Movati Athletic locations (Brantford, Guelph and London – North).
